Who are we?

I am known in the SCA by my Mongol persona of Gülügjab Tannghudai and informally as Puppy. I am the Khan of a household within the SCA known as The Silver Horde.

I study Mongol Archery and Horse Archery and have competed at Naadam in Ulaanbaatar.

In Mongolia

We deal with many small businesses in Mongolia. We try to support people who make a living through their traditional culture. Most of our products are handmade by craftsmen that sell to us directly. This allows us to ensure a high quality, and culturally significant product line is available to our American customers, while expanding the market that Mongolians can reach with their products.

Meet some of our regular suppliers...

Uyanga is our buyer in Mongolia. She seeks out new products and negotiates with the suppliers on our behalf. We have come to depend on her shopping skills over the years. She is always busy keeping our inventory replenished and fulfilling custom orders.

Her name is Dulmaa. She has been working with us for 4 years now. She outfits local Mongolians and tourists in addition to handling much of our custom orders. We joined her for a day in her sewing process on our last visit to Mongolia. We started the day with shopping for fabrics: silk, cotton, buttons, fabric for trim and knot work. She is the best.

These people are our Yurt (Ger) makers. Tsend, on the right, is the manager for this small company. When we went to see their work place some of these people were working on a production of new gers and we took some pictures. You can see them on our Yurt page. Furniture and yurts are all hand decorated.
